Chris Evans barely edges out the win over Chris Dean

The season opener at Talladega is now behind us; with Chris Evans of the #31 Turf Medic machine out performing the rest of the field in the 70 lap contest, taking the checkered flag at a race that we will be fondly looking back on a few years from now as the gensis of this Great Lakes Truck Series. Iacovacci, of the #25 Over Under Fair Podcast Ford F150 qualified in the pole position. Iacovacci led the race for five laps, before getting tangled up with the #5 machine of Anthony Marshall while both were trying to avoid the Peak Performance Motorsports teammates beside them after they got a little squirly from a bump draft.
Things settled down after a couple of early cautions, with the final 40 laps going green. Unfortunately, a few of the stronger drivers suffered from some technical issues during the race costing them a shot at the W. The #3 car of Nate Lynch was having a strong showing, before a technical issue on their end caused them to drop out of the race. With 5 to go, Keith Calhoun was also the victim of a technical issue which caused iRacing to kick him due to throughput while he was vying for the win.
Chris Skala of CaptainTV broadcasted the race, and will be broadcasting all of the Great Lakes Truck Series Season One. Tune in around 8:40PM Eastern on 7/29 to watch these drivers attempt to tackle the dirt beast known as Eldora, and be on the lookout for post-race recap articles here from Chris!
